The Council of State has bemoaned what it says is the spate of indiscipline in the country that does not auger well for the country\u2019s development.<\/p>\n
It said these unfortunate developments must be appropriately dealt with to ensure that they do not leave dire consequences on the country\u2019s social fabric.<\/p>\n
In recent times, various political vigilante groups have been associated with series of violent acts in some parts of the country, a situation that many professional bodies have expressed regret about and called on the government to take immediate steps to address.<\/p>\n
Following the killing of Major Maxwell Mahama some weeks ago, there has been a massive national uproar against mob justice which many have associated with indiscipline within the society.<\/p>\n
The Chairman of the Council of State, Nana Otuo Siriboe II, says such incidents must be tackled immediately.<\/p>\n
In the Council\u2019s first meeting with the President on Tuesday [June 20, 2017], Nana Otuo Siriboe II said, \u201canother issue which has been engaging the council\u2019s attention is the acts of indiscipline and impunity in our society, particularly reported acts of extrajudicial conduct. These incidents of misconduct are a creeping canker that must be decisively dealt with to stem their malignant effect on the social fabric.\u201d<\/p>\n
