{"id":329691,"date":"2017-06-20T06:00:36","date_gmt":"2017-06-20T06:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=329691"},"modified":"2017-06-20T06:00:36","modified_gmt":"2017-06-20T06:00:36","slug":"sagnarigu-dce-tours-flood-prone-areas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/06\/sagnarigu-dce-tours-flood-prone-areas\/","title":{"rendered":"Sagnarigu DCE tours flood prone areas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Sagnarigu District Chief Executive (DCE), Mariam Iddrisu, has initiated pragmatic steps to prevent perennial floods which continue to cause havoc in some parts of the district.<\/p>\n<p>She led a team of engineers to some identified flood prone communities including Ward \u2018K\u2019, Gumani and Nyanshegu.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-329699 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/sagnarigu-1.jpg\" alt=\"sagnarigu-1\" width=\"768\" height=\"576\" \/><br \/>\nThe DCE admonished the people to stop building on waterways as plans are underway to construct more drains in the district.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-329698 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/sagnarigu-4.jpg\" alt=\"sagnarigu-4\" width=\"737\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>She also advised them to stop dumping refuse at unapproved sites, saying, \u201cBuilding on waterways and reckless dumping of solid waste in gutters cost government and the assembly huge sums of money to complete projects.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She reaffirmed government\u2019s commitment to fulfill its 2016 campaign promises only in an atmosphere of peace.<\/p>\n<p>As a health expert, Mariam Iddrisu is the first female DCE of Sagnarigu which was carved out of the Tamale Metropolitan Area.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-329701 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/sagnarigu-3.jpg\" alt=\"sagnarigu-3\" width=\"768\" height=\"576\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Her nomination and subsequent confirmation formed part of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo\u2019s promise to deepen affirmative action especially in the Northern Region where patriarchy is even extended to the local governance space.<\/p>\n<p>The assertive Sagnarigu DCE has promised to liaise with the chiefs and people there for accelerated development.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Abdul Karim Naatogmah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Sagnarigu District Chief Executive (DCE), Mariam Iddrisu, has initiated pragmatic steps to prevent perennial floods which continue to cause havoc in some parts of the district.
