{"id":329557,"date":"2017-06-19T15:59:01","date_gmt":"2017-06-19T15:59:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=329557"},"modified":"2017-06-19T15:59:01","modified_gmt":"2017-06-19T15:59:01","slug":"nkoranza-man-hijacks-gn-bank-van-crashes-into-3-cars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/06\/nkoranza-man-hijacks-gn-bank-van-crashes-into-3-cars\/","title":{"rendered":"Nkoranza: Man hijacks GN Bank van, crashes into 3 cars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nkoranza, near Santasi in the Ashanti Region,\u00a0was the scene of a crash involving four cars after a\u00a0van belonging to the GN Bank, rammed into three others on Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Driving the GN Bank van was a gentleman, identified as Nicholas, believed to be in his early 40s.<\/p>\n<p>Nicholas, <strong>Citi New<\/strong>s gathered, is a driver who is not believed to be mentally unstable, contrary to earlier reports.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-329591\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Nkoranza-Trede-Accident-3.jpg\" alt=\"nkoranza-trede-accident-3\" width=\"600\" height=\"449\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Indications are that he may have experienced a symptom of &#8220;high fever.&#8221; According to Nicholas&#8217; wife, Nicholas vehemently demanded his 3-month old baby from her on Monday\u00a0morning as she was bathing the baby.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI refused to give the baby to him, and I run to my neighbour. My husband is a quiet man, he is even an introvert, I don&#8217;t know what came over him this morning,&#8221; the wife said to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Nicholas then rushed out of the house and attacked people he met on the road, including a Mobile Money Agent whose shop is situated along the road.<\/p>\n<p>Residents who knew him chased after him until he picked a shovel and run to the streets.<\/p>\n<p>He is said to have hit the side glass of the GN Bank van which was en route to Nkoranza from Manso Nkwanta. According to the driver of the GN Bank van, he was returning from Manso Nkwanta to fix his brakes upon realizing that it had developed a fault.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He just met me on the road, I had put on my hazard light and was driving slowly, all I could see was this man who started breaking my passenger glass with the shovel in his hand, so as for me, I got down, because I was very much afraid,&#8221; the driver said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-329589\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Nkoranza-Trede-Accident-1.jpg\" alt=\"nkoranza-trede-accident-1\" width=\"600\" height=\"449\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Nicholas was driving the van at top speed, and at a speed ramp at Trede, he collided with\u00a0three other cars.
