{"id":329533,"date":"2017-06-19T13:30:28","date_gmt":"2017-06-19T13:30:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=329533"},"modified":"2017-06-19T13:30:28","modified_gmt":"2017-06-19T13:30:28","slug":"land-secretariat-inaugurated-in-talensi-to-address-land-disputes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/06\/land-secretariat-inaugurated-in-talensi-to-address-land-disputes\/","title":{"rendered":"Land secretariat inaugurated in Talensi to address land disputes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Customary Land Secretariat has been inaugurated in the Talensi District of the Upper East Region to address land disputes.<\/p>\n<p>The eleven member land management committee of the secretariat, shall record all land transactions at the local level as well as resolve land disputes within the Talensi traditional area.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-329539 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/talensi-land-secretariat-4-1024x767.jpg\" alt=\"talensi-land-secretariat-4\" width=\"620\" height=\"464\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At the inauguration of the secretariat in Tongo, Paramount chief of Talensi traditional Area, Tongraan Kugbilsong Nanlebegtang, said the secretariat will sanitize and streamline land ownership and management.<\/p>\n<p>He said the secretariat will be responsible for the issuance of application forms and allocation notes in the acquisition of lands, and hence a requirement by the District Assembly in issuing\u00a0 building permits\u00a0 to prospective developers.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-329536 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/talensi-land-secretariat-1.jpg\" alt=\"talensi-land-secretariat-1\" width=\"768\" height=\"575\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Tongraan added that,the secretariat will also capture all land acquired by developers in the area and prepare all land related documents to ensure accurate land transactions and records.<\/p>\n<p>He called on stakeholders in the land sector to collaborate with the secretariat to achieve its set objectives.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-329537 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/talensi-land-secretariat-2.jpg\" alt=\"talensi-land-secretariat-2\" width=\"768\" height=\"575\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He also appealed to government to include Clan, Tindana and Family lands under the stool\/skin land since they constitute the chieftaincy institution of a traditional ruler instead of segregating them.<\/p>\n<p>The secretariat will be manned with technical support from the Office of the Administrator of Stool\/Skin lands (OASL).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-329538 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/talensi-land-secretariat-3.jpg\" alt=\"talensi-land-secretariat-3\" width=\"768\" height=\"575\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The establishment of the secretariat is with support from the\u00a0 Ministry of lands and Natural Resources, and the Ghana Land Administration project phase two(LAP-2).<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Frederick Awuni\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Customary Land Secretariat has been inaugurated in the Talensi District of the Upper East Region to address land disputes.
