{"id":328979,"date":"2017-06-16T18:52:30","date_gmt":"2017-06-16T18:52:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=328979"},"modified":"2017-06-16T18:52:30","modified_gmt":"2017-06-16T18:52:30","slug":"boy-5-found-dead-after-ho-floods","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/06\/boy-5-found-dead-after-ho-floods\/","title":{"rendered":"Boy, 5, found dead after Ho floods"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A five-year-old boy has been found dead in a drain at an area known as GOIL Down after heavy rains hit the Volta Regional capital, Ho on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Personnel from the Fire service and National Disaster Management\u00a0Organisation (NADMO) arrived on the scene and transported the body to Regional Hospital Morgue.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-328983\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Ho-Flooded-4.jpg\" alt=\"ho-flooded-4\" width=\"600\" height=\"416\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Regional NADMO Coordinator, Devine Bosson told <strong>Citi News<\/strong>\u00a0that his men are on an assessment tour of the affected areas in the municipality.<\/p>\n<p>The rains which started late in teh afternoon lasted for about two hours with drains overflowing and flooding some major streets within the city.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-328984\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Ho-Flooded-1.jpg\" alt=\"ho-flooded-1\" width=\"600\" height=\"411\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Commuters on the Ho-Aflao road had a difficult time crossing the bridge near the Ho Polyclinic while residents were left stranded at both ends after sections of the road were disconnected by the waters.<\/p>\n<p>Shops and homes along the storm drain around Mawuli estate and Ho Technical University, Bankoe, Anlokordzi, CK Road and other adjoining areas were all affected.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-328982 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Ho-Flooded-3.jpg\" alt=\"ho-flooded-3\" width=\"600\" height=\"396\" \/><\/p>\n<p>One of the residents, Becky who works at a phamous Pharmacy in the town told <strong>Citi News<\/strong> she couldn\u2019t make it to the afternoon shift at her workplace because has been stranded at one end of the road.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: King Nobert Akpablie\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A five-year-old boy has been found dead in a drain at an area known as GOIL Down after heavy rains hit the Volta Regional capital, Ho on Friday.
