kicked out journalists<\/a><\/strong><\/span> covering the case from the courtroom.<\/p>\nAccording to members of the press corps, they do not understand why the magistrate decided to prevent\u00a0them from covering the case as it was one of national interest and was being heard in open court.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”iesJvLsj2c6kQ2sp1c7E7AfvDSkazlil”]The members believe the petition will help ensure permission is granted to journalists to cover the trial when the case returns on June 29.<\/p>\n
The Magistrate, Arit Nsemoh, after the entry of the two suspects in the case; Daniel Asiedu and Vincent Bossu, ordered the police officers stationed within the courtroom to prevent all journalists from\u00a0entering.<\/p>\n
The police were also ordered to usher out journalists already seated in the court. No reason was given for\u00a0the Magistrate’s decision.<\/p>\n
The suspects have been charged with murder, and abetment of murder. The case was adjourned on June 19, because the prosecution said it was waiting for advice from the Attorney General.<\/p>\n
Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu was on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, stabbed to death at his Shiashie residence in Accra.<\/p>\n
