{"id":328072,"date":"2017-06-13T17:10:09","date_gmt":"2017-06-13T17:10:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=328072"},"modified":"2017-06-13T17:10:09","modified_gmt":"2017-06-13T17:10:09","slug":"driver-fined-gh%c2%a2600-for-traffic-offences","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/06\/driver-fined-gh%c2%a2600-for-traffic-offences\/","title":{"rendered":"Driver fined GH\u00a2600 for traffic offences"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Cape Coast High Court has sentenced a 28 year-old sprinter bus driver to a fine of GH\u00a2600.00 for careless and inconsiderate driving, negligently causing harm and driving without a\u00a0license.<\/p>\n<p>The convict, Prosper Agbadzi, pleaded guilty to all the charges and will serve two months prison term or in default pay the fine.<\/p>\n<p>Police Chief Inspector Samuel Tupeng, who prosecuted, told the Court that on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at about 1630hours, Agbadzi was driving a Benz Sprinter bus with registration number (GT 5129- 16) from Takoradi to Accra with 18 passengers.<\/p>\n<p>He said on reaching a section of the road near the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Primary School, he failed to drive with care and lost control of the vehicle which somersaulted and landed on the side of the road.<\/p>\n<p>According to the prosecution, all the passengers sustained various degrees of injury, and were rushed to the UCC Hospital where some were treated and discharged, but a 49-year-old woman was admitted for further treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Inspector Tupeng said investigations established that he lost control of the steering because he was over speeding.<\/p>\n<p>He said Agbadzi was unable to produce his Driver\u2019s License for inspection and he was arrested and granted Police enquiry bail but jumped bail.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Inspector Tupeng said Agbadzi was re-arrested by the Police at Ayamfuri near Dunkwa-On-Offin on Friday, June 9, and handed over to the Police MTTU in Cape Coast.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Source: GNA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Cape Coast High Court has sentenced a 28 year-old sprinter bus driver to a fine of GH\u00a2600.00 for careless and inconsiderate driving, negligently causing harm and driving without a\u00a0license.
