{"id":327916,"date":"2017-06-13T09:39:47","date_gmt":"2017-06-13T09:39:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=327916"},"modified":"2017-06-13T09:39:47","modified_gmt":"2017-06-13T09:39:47","slug":"policeman-shot-dead-near-michel-camp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/06\/policeman-shot-dead-near-michel-camp\/","title":{"rendered":"Policeman shot dead near Michel camp"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Police man believed to be in his 30s has been shot dead by two armed men.<\/p>\n<p>The Policeman, Michael Kporye, was shot in the face and in the chest on Monday evening at Tulaku near Michel Camp, in the Greater Accra Region.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;liPSnd5maQCI0yUwFRqeiAzu76vm8ETr&#8221;]Michael was on night patrol duties in the area using his motorbike when the two unknown armed assailants who were also on a motorbike, shot him to death.<\/p>\n<p>The shooting incident occurred around 9.30pm.<\/p>\n<p>Inspection on the body of the deceased showed multiple gun wounds on his chest and eyebrow. Other items believed to be in possession of the deceased included one AK47 rifle, one pepper spray, a pair of handcuffs and a torch light.<\/p>\n<p>Police sources say investigations have commenced to arrest the suspects.<\/p>\n<p>This incident follows similar ones involving a Lance Corporal\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/05\/30\/policeman-mistaken-for-armed-robber-shot-and-killed-by-patrol-team\/\"><strong>who was shot dead<\/strong> <\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;\">by his<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>colleagues after they mistook him for an armed robber, and Major\u00a0Adam Maxwell Mahama, who was\u00a0mistaken for a robber, and lynched by some residents of Denkyira -Obuasi in the Central Region.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Franklin Badu Jnr\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Police man believed to be in his 30s has been shot dead by two armed men.
