{"id":327696,"date":"2017-06-12T13:22:46","date_gmt":"2017-06-12T13:22:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=327696"},"modified":"2017-06-12T13:22:46","modified_gmt":"2017-06-12T13:22:46","slug":"savelugu-nantong-residents-protest-against-confirmed-mce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/06\/savelugu-nantong-residents-protest-against-confirmed-mce\/","title":{"rendered":"Savelugu-Nantong residents protest against confirmed MCE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Savelugu-Nantong Municipal Chief Executive, Hajia Ayishetu Seidu, has been under siege since her confirmation.<\/p>\n<p>Some angry residents of the area opposed to her confirmation have vowed to resist any attempt to allow her work in the office.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-327734 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/protest-against-nantong-mce-1.jpg\" alt=\"protest-against-nantong-mce-1\" width=\"768\" height=\"576\" \/><\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;R3sSpqKutuz1a2kepmYupgZQfk6Z5g2c&#8221;]Hundreds of residents of the Savelugu-Nantong Municipality including some NPP constituency executives for the third time today (Monday), demonstrated against her confirmation.<\/p>\n<p>They held placards with inscriptions such as \u201cGo back Hajia,\u201d \u201cWe don\u2019t know Hajia,\u201d \u201cWe will never accept her,\u201d \u201cNana Hajia Alima Mahama is misleading you\u201d among others.<\/p>\n<p>They have remained steadfast that any attempt to impose Hajia Ayishetu Seidu on them will be fiercely resisted.<\/p>\n<p>In a petition submitted to the Municipal Coordinating Director, they maintained that she is an alien in both Savelugu and Nantong constituencies for which reason she should be replaced.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-327733 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/protest-against-nantong-mce-3.jpg\" alt=\"protest-against-nantong-mce-3\" width=\"780\" height=\"520\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Spokesperson, Karim Zakari, claimed that Hajia Ayishetu Seidu never participated in any party activities ahead of the 2016 polls.<\/p>\n<p>They also accused the Savelugu\/Nantong MCE of bribing assembly members to confirm her.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-327732 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/protest-against-nantong-mce-2.jpg\" alt=\"protest-against-nantong-mce-2\" width=\"768\" height=\"576\" \/><\/p>\n<p>They warned that the NPP risked losing the Savelugu and Nantong constituencies at the 2020 polls if Hajia Ayishetu Seidu is not replaced.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Abdul Karim Naaogmah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Savelugu-Nantong Municipal Chief Executive, Hajia Ayishetu Seidu, has been under siege since her confirmation.
