Fishermen on the coast of the Mfantseman Municipality in the Central Region, have had their canoes and other fishing equipment destroyed following strong tidal waves that swept through the area on Saturday night.<\/p>\n
The waves affected Ankaful, a suburb of Saltpond,\u00a0Nankesedo, Kormantse, Abandze and Anomabo.<\/p>\n
<\/a><\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n One fisherman from Saltpond was reportedly injured while trying to salvage his fishing equipment, but has since been treated at the Saltpond Municipal\u00a0Hospital and discharged.<\/p>\n Another fisherman at Saltpond, whose canoes and fishing nets were damaged, recounted to Citi News<\/strong> that “it was around 10:00pm\u00a0last night that\u00a0we heard shouts\u00a0that\u00a0the canoes we anchored on the sea\u00a0have been hit by tidal waves.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n
