A total of 468,053 candidates are expected to sit for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) which begins today [Monday] across the country.<\/p>\n
The Ghana Education Service (GES), has however warned candidates and their teachers to desist from any examination malpractice during the exams.<\/p>\n
According to the service, it will sanction severely any teacher who breaches the rules of the examination.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”oD4cT5YQu5etuvNSM6e6CIivt07cFvEk”]Speaking to Citi News<\/strong>, the Public Relations Officer of GES, Reverend Jonathan Bettey, \u00a0said they will not shield any teacher who engages in examination malpractice with a\u00a0candidate.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are expecting that as we begin this year\u2019s BECE, all teachers will be extra careful during the conduct of the examination. We\u2019ve sounded warning to our invigilators and advised teachers also not to use mobile phones in and around the examination centres. We\u2019ve told them to ban themselves from any other form of examination malpractices.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe will not be happy to support any teacher who will indulge himself into any examination malpractice with the children. Our eyes are wide open to get anybody who will thwart the efforts of the Ghana Education Service and the Ministry of Education during the exams,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Agortime-Ziope: Invigilators threaten to boycott BECE<\/strong><\/p>\n Invigilators in the Agortime-Ziope District of the Volta Region earlier threatened to boycott the exams over the non-payment of their accrued allowances by the GES.<\/p>\n But Rev.
