{"id":324410,"date":"2017-06-01T13:30:57","date_gmt":"2017-06-01T13:30:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=324410"},"modified":"2017-06-01T13:30:57","modified_gmt":"2017-06-01T13:30:57","slug":"jb-danquah-murder-suspects-re-arraigned","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/06\/jb-danquah-murder-suspects-re-arraigned\/","title":{"rendered":"JB Danquah murder suspects re-arraigned"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The State has arraigned the two suspects alleged to have murdered the late Member of Parliament for the Abuakwa North Constituency, Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu before a magistrate again after their release.<\/p>\n<p>The two, Daniel Asiedu and Vincent Bosso, were re-arrested after <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/06\/01\/jb-danquah-murder-suspects-re-arraigned\/#sthash.JvJGrrFH.dpuf\">they were discharged<\/a><\/strong><\/span> by a High Court following a decision by the Attorney-General to discontinue the trial.<\/p>\n<p>The two were today [Thursday], charged with the same offences in the case which was dropped by the High Court.<\/p>\n<p>The charges are murder and abetment of murder. The prosecution in the case prayed the court for the suspects to remanded, as police were still investigating some new leads they have gathered.<\/p>\n<p>The presiding judge granted the request for remand and adjourned the case to the 14th of June 2017.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_28495\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-28495\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Gloria-Akuffo-new-citifmonline.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-28495\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Gloria-Akuffo-new-citifmonline.jpg\" alt=\"Gloria Akuffo \" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Gloria-Akuffo-new-citifmonline.jpg 600w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Gloria-Akuffo-new-citifmonline-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-28495\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Gloria Akuffo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The dropping of the first case was initially met with some backlash from the public till the Attorney General, Gloria Akuffo,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/05\/30\/j-b-danquahs-killers-will-be-re-arrested-gloria-akuffo\/\">clarified that<\/a><\/strong><\/span> the suspects would be re-arrested after investigations into the case re-opened.<\/p>\n<p>The AG explained to <strong>Citi News<\/strong> at the time that \u201cthe case had been tendered before I took office. I had made an undertaking to the people of Ghana that I will look at everything on our desk and this matter is one of those. I have together with my officials here taken a hard look at the docket and we have come to the decision that there are aspects of the matter that require further investigations, and to be able to do that, then we need to discontinue because we cannot reopen investigations when the case is on trial, so what has necessitated the withdrawal by the entering of a nolle prosequoi is to enable us conduct further investigations into aspects of the matter.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_253848\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-253848\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/jb-danquah.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-253848\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/jb-danquah.jpg\" alt=\"The late Abuakwa North MP, J.B Danquah\" width=\"800\" height=\"609\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-253848\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The late Abuakwa North MP, J.B Danquah<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Abuakwa North legislator was on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, stabbed to death at his Shiashie residence in Accra.<\/p>\n<p>Two days after his murder, the then Accra Regional Police Command, led by COP George A.
