Mahama&#8217;s murder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following the gruesome murder of Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama, and the subsequent action by the security services, basic schools within Denkyira Obuasi in the Upper West Denkyira District have been closed down.<\/p>\n<p>According to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>\u2019 Obrempong Yaw Ampofo, students have abandoned the schools, while most residents are reported to have vacated the town with their wards.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-324262\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Empty-school.png\" alt=\"empty-school\" width=\"881\" height=\"474\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-324261\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/empty-school-3.png\" alt=\"empty-school-3\" width=\"862\" height=\"397\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-324260\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Empty-school-2.png\" alt=\"empty-school-2\" width=\"846\" height=\"453\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-324232\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Denkyira-Obuasi-ghost-town-3.jpg\" alt=\"denkyira-obuasi-ghost-town-3\" width=\"600\" height=\"394\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Upper West Denkyria District Director of Education , Rose Tenkorang, who made this known, said the situation is worrying since the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) starts on Monday.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-324234\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Denkyira-Obuasi-ghost-town-1.jpg\" alt=\"denkyira-obuasi-ghost-town-1\" width=\"600\" height=\"386\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the situation is now, I don\u2019t think any teacher will be willing to come to school. Neither the pupils nor parents are willing to come. The parents have fled with their children so nobody is there so automatically the schools have been closed down.
