Hundreds of displaced residents in the Bongo District of the Upper East Region are appealing for support from the government following a rainstorm on Monday night.<\/p>\n
The rainstorm ripped off the roof of six basic schools, one CHPS centre and several houses including apartments of the Bongo police and Fire Service personnel.<\/p>\n
<\/a><\/p>\n The Bongo District Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Mr. Tahiru Rafiu disclosed this after a rapid assessment \u00a0of the affected areas on Tuesday (30th May,2017).<\/p>\n He said, even though his outfit was yet to compile a comprehensive report of all affected households by the rainstorm, the dire effect of the storm on the displaced victims cannot be underestimated and called for urgent aid for the residents.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n The affected schools are; the Soe Community Senior High School, the\u00a0 Agomo, Soe, Ayopia and Vincent Akurigu primary schools.<\/p>\n
