The Eastern Regional Police Command\u00a0has since dispatched a team reinforce security in the area, to ensure law and order.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Angry-Somanya-residents-rampage-again-torch-police-car-5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-323478\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Angry-Somanya-residents-rampage-again-torch-police-car-5.jpg\" alt=\"angry-somanya-residents-rampage-again-torch-police-car-5\" width=\"600\" height=\"401\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Angry-Somanya-residents-rampage-again-torch-police-car-6.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-323473\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Angry-Somanya-residents-rampage-again-torch-police-car-6.jpg\" alt=\"angry-somanya-residents-rampage-again-torch-police-car-6\" width=\"600\" height=\"383\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Police in the Eastern Region were on the lookout for one Emmanuel Jamartey, who is reported to have instigated the said violent demonstration in\u00a0Somanya.<\/p>\n<p>The Police say\u00a0Mr.\u00a0Jamartey acted unlawfully rallying the demonstrators to embark on an exercise that led to the destruction of property.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Angry-Somanya-residents-rampage-again-torch-police-car-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-323476\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Angry-Somanya-residents-rampage-again-torch-police-car-3.jpg\" alt=\"angry-somanya-residents-rampage-again-torch-police-car-3\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Angry-Somanya-residents-rampage-again-torch-police-car-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-323474\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Angry-Somanya-residents-rampage-again-torch-police-car-1.jpg\" alt=\"angry-somanya-residents-rampage-again-torch-police-car-1\" width=\"600\" height=\"431\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The demonstration saw hundreds of angry residents in the town take over the offices of the ECG, as some <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/05\/27\/somanya-residents-attack-local-radio-station-after-ecg-protest\/\">vandalise<\/a>d<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0parts of the building in protest over what they described as outrageous electricity bills.<\/p>\n<p>The demonstration also saw a reporter with <strong>Citi FM\u2019s<\/strong> partner station, Rite FM, allegedly assaulted by some protesters when he was covering the protest.<\/p>\n<p>The demonstrators proceeded to march on <strong>Rite FM\u2019s<\/strong> premises after the station condemned their actions.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Neil Nii Amatey\u00a0Kanarku\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some angry residents of Somanya in the Eastern Region, have clashed\u00a0with police following the arrest of a man believed to have masterminded a\u00a0violent demonstration last week Friday, against the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
