{"id":323441,"date":"2017-05-29T14:25:57","date_gmt":"2017-05-29T14:25:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=323441"},"modified":"2017-05-29T14:25:57","modified_gmt":"2017-05-29T14:25:57","slug":"kwesi-botchwey-committee-presents-report-tomorrow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/05\/kwesi-botchwey-committee-presents-report-tomorrow\/","title":{"rendered":"Kwesi Botchwey committee presents report on Tuesday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/12\/29\/kwesi-botchwey-chairs-committee-to-diagnose-ndcs-defeat\/\"><strong>Prof. Kwesi Botchwey<\/strong><\/a><\/span> led committee investigating the National Democratic Congress\u2019 (NDC) woeful election performance in December 2016, is expected to submit its report to the party on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The committee had been touring the country and meeting with various individuals and groups to gather information for the past four months, on what accounted for its loss in the polls.<\/p>\n<p><strong>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;OmqcfNlzfaHXwcc9A4TzITegww1QuIvW&#8221;]Citi News<\/strong> has gathered that, the final report, which will be presented to the party\u2019s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting tomorrow [Tuesday], suggested among other things a new direction for the NDC on the election of executives and a flagbearer.<\/p>\n<p>The 13-member committee was constituted by the NDC\u2019s National Executive Committee (NEC), and approved by its Council of Elders on December 29, 2016.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Members of the committee are;<\/strong><br \/>\n1. Kwesi Botchwey<br \/>\n2. Edward Doe Adjaho (Former Speaker of Parliament)<br \/>\n3. Alhaji Hudu Yahaya<br \/>\n4. Naval Capt. Asase Gyimah<br \/>\n5. William Ahadzi (director of research at the NDC headquarters)<br \/>\n6. Ibrahim Zuberu, (Lecturer at Accra Technical University and member of NDC)<br \/>\n7. Razak Abu (Researcher at NDC\u2019s Development Challenge)<br \/>\n8. Juliana Azumah Mensah (Former MP for Agotime-Ziope)<br \/>\n9. Barbarah Serwah Asamoah<br \/>\n10. Four (4) members from NDC parliamentary caucus (including Minority Leader)<\/p>\n<p>According to the General Secretary of the party, Asiedu Nketia, who announced the setup of the committee, the committee was to \u201creview and validate the results of the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections and find out the causes of the poor performance of the NDC in both the presidential and the parliamentary election, as well as to deal with other matter reasonably related to the above objectives and to make recommendations to the National Executive Committee about the way forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The committee\u2019s work faced a number of challenges including some youth <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/03\/17\/ndc-members-trade-blows-at-kwesi-botchwey-committee-sitting\/\"><strong>preventing one of its meetings<\/strong><\/a><\/span> in the Eastern Region from being held.<\/p>\n<p>The 90-day deadline given to the committee was extended by at least a month to enable it complete its work.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Jonas Nyabor\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Prof. Kwesi Botchwey led committee investigating the National Democratic Congress\u2019 (NDC) woeful election performance in December 2016, is expected to submit its report to the party on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.
