{"id":322911,"date":"2017-05-27T09:04:46","date_gmt":"2017-05-27T09:04:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=322911"},"modified":"2017-05-27T09:04:46","modified_gmt":"2017-05-27T09:04:46","slug":"somanya-residents-attack-local-radio-station-after-ecg-protest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/05\/somanya-residents-attack-local-radio-station-after-ecg-protest\/","title":{"rendered":"Somanya residents attack local radio station after ECG protest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Citi FM&#8217;s<\/strong> partner\u00a0station at Somanya in the Eastern Region, Rite FM, temporarily faced the wrath\u00a0residents protesting against\u00a0Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It took the intervention of the police to ensure that we the journalists at Rite FM were safe,\u201d a reporter with the station, Austin Ofori Addo, said on <strong>Eyewitness News<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The protesters had earlier allegedly assaulted one of the Rite FM reporters during the demonstration against the ECG and this prompted some criticism from the radio station, according to Mr. Addo.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We condemned that situation and I think they were not happy about that.
