{"id":322741,"date":"2017-05-27T07:20:54","date_gmt":"2017-05-27T07:20:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=322741"},"modified":"2017-05-27T07:20:54","modified_gmt":"2017-05-27T07:20:54","slug":"my-attention-has-been-drawn-to-a-sham-and-shabby-publication-of-a-press-conference-which-was-purported-to-be-the-decision-of-the-biakoye-constituency-npp-executives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/05\/my-attention-has-been-drawn-to-a-sham-and-shabby-publication-of-a-press-conference-which-was-purported-to-be-the-decision-of-the-biakoye-constituency-npp-executives\/","title":{"rendered":"Brong Ahafo: Quality education is Govt&#8217;s priority &#8211; Minister"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh has stressed the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government is committed to providing effective and efficient educational system in the country to enhance the quality of human resource needed for development.<\/p>\n<p>He said government&#8217;s introduction and commitment to implementing Free SHS Education, the restoration of allowances for \u00a0nurses and teacher trainees and the School Feeding Programme are all geared towards providing quality and affordable education in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The Regional Minister said this when he commissioned a two-storey GETFUND Administrative block for the Twene Amanfo Secondary and Technical school in Sunyani.<\/p>\n<p>The facility which started in 2007 under former President Kufour&#8217;s administration, has an IT centre, library, Headmaster&#8217;s office, staff common room among others.<\/p>\n<p>He assured teachers government was determined to improve on their welfare and teaching condition and urged them to give out their best to ensure that quality education is achieved in the country.<\/p>\n<p>To the students, he appealed to them to take advantage of the numerous interventions that the government was introducing in the educational sector for a better future and study hard to justify the investment that their parents are putting their education.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-322791\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Sunyani-GETFund-project-2.jpg\" alt=\"sunyani-getfund-project-2\" width=\"1080\" height=\"607\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Sunyani, Dr. Evelyn Kumi Richardson complained about inadequate facilities at the school that has trained and produced great men and women and therefore appealed to the old students association to help their alma mater.<\/p>\n<p>She pledged the support of her outfit to make sure that the school gets its fair share of development and appealed to philanthropists to come to the aid of the school.<\/p>\n<p>Nana Bofotia Boamposem, the Krontihene of the Sunyani traditional area pledged the willingness of the chiefs to help boost education in region.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If you are not educated you are more or less blind or deaf\u201d, Nana Boamposem emphasised.<\/p>\n<p>The Headmaster if the school Mr. Nsiah Gyabaa, in his welcome address commended successive governments their contribution towards the completion of the project.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By:\u00a0Mashoud Kombat\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh has stressed the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government is committed to providing effective and efficient educational system in the country to enhance the quality of human resource needed for development.
