The administration and management sub committee established by the Sports Ministry, has suggested that the government should look into the possibility of\u00a0 constructing sports infrastructure in all the districts in the country.<\/p>\n
The committee who were mandated by the Sports Ministry to draw up a\u00a0 framework for developing football in the country at a recent forum held by the Ministry say this project will ensure that the vast array of talent in various sections of the country will be properly nurtured.<\/p>\n
Entrepreneur and philanthropist, Dr Kofi Amoah, who was a member of the committee, says the nation should look to invest in these structures due to the role the sport plays in projecting the image of the nation to the international community.<\/p>\n
“We believe that football plays a significant role in creating unity for us and using football to brand ourselves on the international stage then it become something in which the benefits outweigh the cost.<\/p>\n
So we have done our best thinking we are all aware of the financial duties we are experiencing right now we are not saying that everything must be done today but we are putting it forward,” he said.<\/p>\n
He says an abundance of untapped talent exists in the rural areas and other remote places that needs to be harnessed.<\/p>\n
“In growing Ghana football the talent of soccer is all over the country.<\/p>\n
