{"id":319498,"date":"2017-05-16T06:15:28","date_gmt":"2017-05-16T06:15:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=319498"},"modified":"2017-05-16T06:15:28","modified_gmt":"2017-05-16T06:15:28","slug":"well-petition-igp-over-adam-mahamas-death-afokos-family","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/05\/well-petition-igp-over-adam-mahamas-death-afokos-family\/","title":{"rendered":"We&#8217;ll petition IGP over Adam Mahama&#8217;s death &#8211; Afoko&#8217;s family"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The family of Gregory Afoko has served notice it will petition the Inspector General of Police to arrest and investigate senior party members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the death of the party&#8217;s former Upper East Regional Chairman, Adams Mahama.<\/p>\n<p>The party members include Northern Regional Chairman, Daniel Bugri Naabu, the Gender Minister, Otiko Djaba and the Upper East Regional Minister, Rockson Bukari.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_52440\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-52440\" style=\"width: 799px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-52440\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/FullSizeRender-1.jpg\" alt=\"Daniel Bugri Naabu, NPP Northern Regional Chairman \" width=\"799\" height=\"493\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/FullSizeRender-1.jpg 799w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/FullSizeRender-1-300x185.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 799px) 100vw, 799px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-52440\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Daniel Bugri Naabu, NPP Northern Regional Chairman<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;xxlYsHxZ6AgEqUnibzyCTEQPVIp3lZJl&#8221;]Mr. Naabu had alleged in a radio interview that Otiko Djaba and Rockson Bukari were \u201cdeeply\u201d involved in the murder of Adams Mahama.<\/p>\n<p>Though Mr. Naabu has since apologised and withdrawn these claims, the family is calling for an investigation to establish the truth.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on<strong> Eyewitness News<\/strong>, one of the principal heads of the Gregory Afoko family, Robert Atong Asekabta said the investigation will help identify the true suspects complicit in Adam Mahama\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p>Asked whether allegations made by Bugri Naabu are substantial enough, Mr. Asekabta said: \u201cIt is concrete because he came out to openly say that the Regional Minister for the Upper East Region masterminded the killing of Adams Mahama.
