{"id":317254,"date":"2017-05-08T09:09:00","date_gmt":"2017-05-08T09:09:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=317254"},"modified":"2017-05-08T09:09:00","modified_gmt":"2017-05-08T09:09:00","slug":"assembly-members-confirm-obuasi-mce-nominee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/05\/assembly-members-confirm-obuasi-mce-nominee\/","title":{"rendered":"Assembly members confirm Obuasi MCE nominee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) nominee for the Obuasi Municipal Assembly, Elijah Adansi Bonah has been confirmed by the Assembly members in the area.<\/p>\n<p>He polled a total of 37 out of 55 votes cast.<\/p>\n<p>This represents 67% of the total votes with 17 dissenting votes and 1 rejected in an election supervised by the Electoral Commission.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Bonah until his nomination by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was the Assembly member for Sanso electoral area.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-317256 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/obuasi-mce-1.jpg\" alt=\"obuasi-mce-1\" width=\"768\" height=\"506\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Before the elections, the Member of Parliament for the Obuasi East Constituency, Dr. Boakye Yiadom commended\u00a0the Assembly Members for upholding the unity of the house.<\/p>\n<p>He also appealed to the Assembly Members to rally behind the President\u2019s nominee by voting overwhelmingly for him.<\/p>\n<p>The Presiding Member for the Assembly and the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Faustina Amissah and Abraham Boadi respectively, added their voices to the call on the Assembly Members to vote massively for the MCE nominee.<\/p>\n<p>In his acceptance speech, the MCE-elect, Adansi Bonah thanked the President for the appointment.<\/p>\n<p>He was also grateful to the Assembly Members for endorsing him.<\/p>\n<p>He further offered an olive branch to other aspirants who also vied for the position and called for all hands on deck in championing the course for the development of the mining town.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: \u00a0\u00a0Sampson Manu\/ ISD<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) nominee for the Obuasi Municipal Assembly, Elijah Adansi Bonah has been confirmed by the Assembly members in the area.
