{"id":317045,"date":"2017-05-06T19:57:32","date_gmt":"2017-05-06T19:57:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=317045"},"modified":"2017-05-06T19:57:32","modified_gmt":"2017-05-06T19:57:32","slug":"regional-minister-orders-arrest-of-late-adam-mahamas-brother","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/05\/regional-minister-orders-arrest-of-late-adam-mahamas-brother\/","title":{"rendered":"Regional Minister orders arrest of late Adam Mahama\u2019s brother"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nuhu Mahama Akalbila, brother of late Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Adams Mahama was arrested on Saturday, May 6, on the orders of the Regional Minister, Rockson Bukari for \u00a0misconduct.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, Rockson Bukari said, he went to the Gambibgo village to greet a bereaved family but was welcomed with insults and abusive words from Nuhu without provocation.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, he chose not to react but reported the actions of Nuhu to elders of the family.<\/p>\n<p>He added that, Nuhu subsequently attempted to fight him but family members at the funeral grounds intervened.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So considering the situation and the threats and insults rained on me by Mr. Nuhu Mahama, I had to call on the police for his arrest and interrogation on why he did what he did. so he was arrested and detained for several hours but was granted bail,&#8221; Mr. Rockson stated.<\/p>\n<p>Nuhu Mahama accused the Regional Minister, Rockson Bukari of using his office to get\u00a0revenge against him for disrespecting him (Rockson Bukari) when the NPP was in opposition.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_317046\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-317046\" style=\"width: 620px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-317046\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Rockson-Bukari-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Rockson Bukari\" width=\"620\" height=\"465\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-317046\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Rockson Bukari<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>He again accused the minister of verbally abusing him when he went to the minister&#8217;s office with his contract certificates to the signed for payments, but Rockson Bukari denied this, saying Mahama was seeking to disgrace him.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister however said the allegations were untrue.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When Nuhu brought his contract certificate to my office I signed them for him but I still don&#8217;t know what he has against me and cannot trash them out with me.
