The police Commander there, ASP Steven Paa Yeboah disclosed to Citi News his command could only boast of 17 police personnel as at June 29, 2014.<\/p>\n
In view of the area\u2019s volatility, he called adequate logistics including patrol vehicles.<\/p>\n
According to him, the Gushiegu district command has one pickup meant for official duties and patrols.<\/p>\n
This according to ASP Steven Paa Yeboah served as a contributory factor to delays in personnel arriving on time in conflict prone zones.<\/p>\n
He also mentioned the lack of accommodation for personnel posted to the area.<\/p>\n
He however said the assembly promised to solve some of the problems to ensure effective policing.<\/p>\n
As a result of the command\u2019s poor numerical strength on the ground, the few there were overstretched during renewed clashes between two Konkomba clans at Yiyamba and Biriyamba.<\/p>\n
There has always been the need for reinforcement from Yendi and the Northern Regional Police Command anytime there is trouble in Gushiegu and its environs.<\/p>\n
The Gushiegu district is well-known for its recurring chieftaincy, land and political upheavals.<\/p>\n
