So how is government working differently to increase Ghana\u2019s cocoa production from the 800,000 metric tons to one million as it improves local processing to 50 percent?<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_72866\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-72866\" style=\"width: 1040px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/citibusinessnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Hackman-Owusu-Agyeman-and-Board-members-of-Cocobod-at-Touton.jpeg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-72866\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-72866\" src=\"http:\/\/citibusinessnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Hackman-Owusu-Agyeman-and-Board-members-of-Cocobod-at-Touton.jpeg\" alt=\"Hackman Owusu Agyeman and Board members of Cocobod at Touton\" width=\"1040\" height=\"780\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-72866\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Hackman Owusu Agyeman and Board members of Cocobod at Touton<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Speaking to Citi Business News after a tour of some cocoa processing companies in Tema, the Chairman of the Board of COCOBOD, Mr. Hackman Owusu Agyeman stated that government is keen on achieving the targets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe president, Nana Akufo-Addo announced that we want to increase cocoa production to one million metric tons and also increase the processing of the beans to 50 percent. We can do it,\u201d he assured.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citibusinessnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/WhatsApp-Image-2017-05-04-at-1.34.54-PM-1.jpeg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-72867\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-72867\" src=\"http:\/\/citibusinessnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/WhatsApp-Image-2017-05-04-at-1.34.54-PM-1.jpeg\" alt=\"WhatsApp Image 2017-05-04 at 1.34.54 PM (1)\" width=\"1040\" height=\"780\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mr. Owusu Agyeman stated that government will work at increasing output in the sector.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are going to work at increasing the output.
