{"id":315897,"date":"2017-05-02T09:03:04","date_gmt":"2017-05-02T09:03:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=315897"},"modified":"2017-05-02T09:03:04","modified_gmt":"2017-05-02T09:03:04","slug":"portions-of-kwame-nkrumah-interchange-develop-potholes-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/05\/portions-of-kwame-nkrumah-interchange-develop-potholes-photos\/","title":{"rendered":"Portions of Kwame Nkrumah Interchange develop potholes [Photos]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Portions of Kwame Nkrumah Interchange have developed deep and deadly potholes, five months after the \u20ac74 million project was commissioned.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-315909\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Road-2.jpg\" alt=\"road-2\" width=\"1043\" height=\"780\" \/><\/p>\n<p>What started as a small pothole has become a pond in front of Ernest Chemist close to the Newtown overhead.<\/p>\n<p>The situation worsens by the day delaying the flow of traffic and destroying vehicle parts.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-315912\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Road-5.jpg\" alt=\"road-5\" width=\"1056\" height=\"780\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Citi News&#8217;<\/strong> Caleb Kudah reported that &#8220;a water pipe that burst under the road three months ago, keeps eroding the road.&#8221;<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-315911\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Road-4.jpg\" alt=\"road-4\" width=\"1042\" height=\"780\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to Caleb, &#8220;several attempts to fix the pipe have yielded no results as technicians have failed to permanently rectify the anomaly.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The drivers are currently meandering their way through the potholes because of the deep holes.,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>Some drivers who spoke to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>\u00a0 also expressed their frustrations about the problem.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is really affecting our work. The potholes delay the flow of traffic. Most of the drivers have to slow down and navigate their turns and this causes traffic,&#8221; one driver complained.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-315912\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Road-5.jpg\" alt=\"road-5\" width=\"1056\" height=\"780\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Ghanaian drivers are not the only ones affected by the development, Nigerian drivers in the same area also complained , saying the potholes had been there for almost three months now.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The potholes have been here for like three months now. There is a burst pipe here which erodes the roads. It is slowing down business because most of the drivers do not want to come here because their tires will get burst and all that. It also causes delay and traffic.
