{"id":315182,"date":"2017-04-30T16:57:54","date_gmt":"2017-04-30T16:57:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=315182"},"modified":"2017-04-30T16:57:54","modified_gmt":"2017-04-30T16:57:54","slug":"professor-kwasi-opoku-amankwa-appointed-acting-ges-director","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/04\/professor-kwasi-opoku-amankwa-appointed-acting-ges-director\/","title":{"rendered":"Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa appointed acting GES Director"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Nana Akufo-Addo has appointed Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa as the Acting Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES).<\/p>\n<p>A letter signed by the President and sighted by <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, indicates that the appointment is pending the advice of the governing council of the Service in consultation with the Public Service Commission.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Opoku-Amankwa will be taking over from Mr. Jacob Kor who was appointed to the office two years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Until his appointment, Prof. Opoku-Amankwa was the Dean of International Programmes at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).<\/p>\n<p>He had also served as the Head of the Department of Publishing Studies at KNUST.<\/p>\n<p>Between 2012 and 2014, he served as the Dean of the school&#8217;s Faculty of Art.<\/p>\n<p>In various previous engagements, he worked as a journalist, communications specialist, and a teacher.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Caleb Kudah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Nana Akufo-Addo has appointed Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa as the Acting Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES).
