{"id":314664,"date":"2017-04-28T11:30:38","date_gmt":"2017-04-28T11:30:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=314664"},"modified":"2017-04-28T11:30:38","modified_gmt":"2017-04-28T11:30:38","slug":"minister-cautions-media-on-coverage-of-mmdce-tensions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/04\/minister-cautions-media-on-coverage-of-mmdce-tensions\/","title":{"rendered":"Minister cautions media on coverage of MMDCE tensions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed has implored Journalists in the region to be circumspect with their reportage on security matters.<\/p>\n<p>He pinpointed the hostilities that characterized the official announcement of list of Municipal and District Chief Executive nominees for the Tolon, Savelugu and Sagnarigu districts.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;alrAMc7pfT46dKUkrMuOrBoQaa00t9T2&#8243;]Some angry youth of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the aforementioned districts went on rampage and vandalized party paraphernalia in protest.<\/p>\n<p>The situation attracted negative publicity which created a bad image for the region.<\/p>\n<p>Salifu Saeed at a media briefing unequivocally condemned the spontaneous reactions to the President\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n<p>He reprimanded the angry youth and tasked them to use the appropriate channels to address their grievances.<\/p>\n<p>He also tasked party executives at the various constituencies to take charge and calm nerves.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized the need for chiefs and people of the troubled districts to respect the President\u2019s decision and support the MDCE nominees to get hundred percent confirmation.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the disappointed MDCE aspirants will be fixed in the appropriate Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.<\/p>\n<p>He said the current NPP government under the watch of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo abhors lawlessness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident is unhappy about the hostilities and needs a peaceful environment to deliver good governance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Abdul Karim Naatogmah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed has implored Journalists in the region to be circumspect with their reportage on security matters.
