{"id":313968,"date":"2017-04-26T10:31:27","date_gmt":"2017-04-26T10:31:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=313968"},"modified":"2017-04-26T10:31:27","modified_gmt":"2017-04-26T10:31:27","slug":"bawku-west-npp-supporters-vandalise-party-office-over-dce-appointment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/04\/bawku-west-npp-supporters-vandalise-party-office-over-dce-appointment\/","title":{"rendered":"Bawku West: NPP supporters vandalise party office over DCE appointment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Angry supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bawku West Constituency of the Upper East Region on Tuesday evening, vandalized their party office and some departmental offices in the Zebilla district, over the alleged appointment of one Victoria Ayamba as the District Chief Executive for the area.<\/p>\n<p>Even though the President is yet to announce his nominees for Municipal and District Chief Executives, the group alleged\u00a0that Madam Ayamba, who doubles as the constituency women&#8217;s organizer for the NPP, is believed to be the choice of President Nana Akufo-Addo\u00a0for the job.<\/p>\n<p>The group said Patrick Ayamba, Assembly Member for Teshie, a suburb of Zebilla, and a businessman, is their best bet for the job and will resist any other appointment by President Akufo-Addo.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-313980 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Zebilla-NPP-youth-vandanlize-party-4-1.jpg\" alt=\"zebilla-npp-youth-vandanlize-party-4\" width=\"630\" height=\"354\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-313979 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Zebilla-NPP-youth-vandanlize-party-3-1.jpg\" alt=\"zebilla-npp-youth-vandanlize-party-3\" width=\"630\" height=\"354\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The angry youth vandalized the party office and burned lorry tyres on the Zebilla-Bolgatanga road causing traffic for over two hours.<\/p>\n<p>They also destroyed the Community Development Department, Social Welfare office, Non-formal office, Youth Employment Agency office, and the clients unit office of the Bawku West District Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>But Constituency Secretary, Daniel Atampuba, told <strong>Citi News<\/strong>\u00a0a meeting will be convened to quickly address the situation.<\/p>\n<p>He said all the three aspirants in the race have contributed to the success of the party, and that party members should support whoever the president appoints for the job.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&#8230;Besides, all the three aspirants including Victory Ayamba are party members and are playing their roles to the success of the party. Whoever emerges as the District Chief Executive will \u00a0do well, but they should understand that it is not about an individual&#8217;s interest.
