{"id":313283,"date":"2017-04-23T16:14:22","date_gmt":"2017-04-23T16:14:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=313283"},"modified":"2017-04-23T16:14:22","modified_gmt":"2017-04-23T16:14:22","slug":"groupe-nduom-counts-loss-after-fire-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/04\/groupe-nduom-counts-loss-after-fire-accident\/","title":{"rendered":"Groupe Nduom counts loss after fire accident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Groupe Nduom, is counting its losses after the offices four of its subsidiary companies, GN Bank, Gold Coast Securities, \u00a0Amansan TV and Business Television Africa were ravaged by <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/04\/22\/fire-at-coconut-grove-hotel-brought-under-control\/\"><strong>fire<\/strong><\/a><\/span> on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of corporate affairs of <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/04\/23\/coconut-grove-fire-mahama-commiserates-with-nduom\/\"><strong>Groupe Nduom<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, Richard Keelson in an interaction with the press a day after the incident said the arrangements have been made the customers of GN Bank and Gold Coast Securities concerning their deposits.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;rAKhdDWNC7VaklYpQVyBsf6NKdOAX1uA&#8221;]\u201cThis morning we came here to take stock of what has happened, damage caused, we have to assess every other related issue. There are some contingency measures that we have put in place to make sure that the media aspect of the facility come up very quickly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is also other elements of insurance. Insurers are here taking inventory of our damaged items and facilities. All that we will tell our customers is that they should not panic, it has happened through no fault of anyone. There is a contingency for them for their deposits as the case may be for GN Bank and also Gold Coast Securities. If there is any liability it falls within the ambits of Groupe Nduom so nobody should be worried about it. Everything is under control,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-313287\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Coconut-Grove-razed-1-1.jpeg\" alt=\"coconut-grove-razed-1\" width=\"1040\" height=\"584\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It took the combined efforts of personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service and the Fire Department of the Ghana Air Force more than three hours to\u00a0contain the fire which started around 4.30pm.<\/p>\n<p>Although the cause of the fire is yet to be known, the company said initial information it gathered indicates a spark of fire from an <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/04\/23\/coconut-grove-fire-was-sparked-by-air-condition-groupe-nduom\/\"><strong>air-conditioning unit<\/strong><\/a><\/span> led to the unfortunate incident.<\/p>\n<p>But Mr Richard Keelson said it is collaborating with the Ghana National Fire Service for a full-scale investigation to be conducted, adding that, the company will also conduct its internal investigations.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-313289\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Coconut-Grove-razed-3-1.jpeg\" alt=\"coconut-grove-razed-3\" width=\"1040\" height=\"584\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fire service is conducting its investigations. We will also do our own internal investigations. It is a process. It may take some days for us to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Affected facilities <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He indicated that the guest rooms and conference facilities of the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel were not affected.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo facility within Coconut Grove was affected. Everything is intact as far as the Hotel is concerned. Yesterday we evacuated all guests to Coconut Grove \u2013 Sakumono, and so they are doing fine.
