{"id":31220,"date":"2014-07-11T17:57:18","date_gmt":"2014-07-11T17:57:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=31220"},"modified":"2014-07-11T18:18:23","modified_gmt":"2014-07-11T18:18:23","slug":"sierra-leonean-president-applauds-mahamas-perfomance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/07\/sierra-leonean-president-applauds-mahamas-perfomance\/","title":{"rendered":"[Audio] Sierra Leonean President applauds Mahama&#8217;s perfomance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President of Sierra Leone, Ernest Bai Koroma has praised\u00a0 President John Mahama&#8217;s performance\u00a0as the Chairman of the Regional Body, Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), describing him as a decisive leader.<\/p>\n<p>According to him President Mahama as Chairman of ECOWAS \u201chas hit the ground running\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The Sierra Leonean President says President Mahama has shown some difference because the just concluded meeting of ECOWAS heads of states \u201cis one of the best organized and most productive\u201d they have had as a sub-region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we continue with this kind of leadership in ECOWAS I am sure we will go a long way in achieving the protocols that we have set out in addressing the specific issues that are now affecting the sub-region,\u2019\u2019 President Koroma indicated.<\/p>\n<p>He further indicated that although the tenure of President Mahama has also been plagued with\u00a0many challenges such as; Boko Haram in Nigeria and the scourge of Ebola in the sub-region, the ECOWAS Chairman has so far shown commitment\u00a0to addressing the challenges.<\/p>\n<p>President Mahama has convened meetings to help address the many challenges the sub-region faces since he was elected by colleague Heads of States to chair the Regional Body ECOWAS.<\/p>\n<p>He has chaired a session to help address the Boko Haram problem in Nigeria and the security challenges in Mali.<\/p>\n<p>President Bai Koroma in an interview with the press after the 45<sup>th<\/sup> session of ECOWAS in Accra\u00a0stated that President Mahama\u2019s decisiveness is the kind of leadership the regional body needs for growth and development.<\/p>\n<p>President John Dramani Mahama has been elected Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States for one year.<\/p>\n<p>His election was during the 44th ordinary session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government in Yamoussoukro, La Cote d&#8217;Ivoire.
