Former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah has continuously been linked with a role in the back room staff of incoming Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah.<\/p>\n
However, he claims \u00a0that he has not been contacted by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).<\/p>\n
The former Juventus midfielder captained Ghana to its maiden World Cup tournament in Germany, and also participated in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.<\/p>\n
Despite retiring from active football, Appiah has been present around the senior national team, and was named as a member of the technical team for the Brazil 2014 World Cup. During the search process for Avram Grant\u2019s successor, he campaigned heavily for the appointment of a local coach for the Black Stars.<\/p>\n
Incoming head coach, Kwesi Appiah, is expected to make recommendations to the Ghana Football Association on a number of changes to the backroom staff of the team, and Stephen has been heavily tipped to take over the role as team manager.<\/p>\n
Appiah\u00a0has hinted that, he will be available\u00a0for the opportunity to serve Ghana when approached.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have not received any letter, but Stephen Appiah is a business man” he said.<\/p>\n
He added that, \u201cI have players that I am managing and players that I am training and other ventures I plan on coming out with. I am available, and if it comes to working with the Black Stars I am ready,\u201dhe revealed.<\/p>\n
Kwesi Appiah is expected to officially commece work on May 1, 2017, by which time the full composition of his technical bench will be clear.<\/p>\n
