{"id":309575,"date":"2017-04-10T16:19:08","date_gmt":"2017-04-10T16:19:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=309575"},"modified":"2017-04-10T16:19:08","modified_gmt":"2017-04-10T16:19:08","slug":"20-arrested-over-attempted-ug-grade-manipulation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/04\/20-arrested-over-attempted-ug-grade-manipulation\/","title":{"rendered":"20 arrested over attempted UG grade manipulation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some 20 persons have been arrested by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), for attempting to hack the University of Ghana website to change the grades of students.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ebenezer Oduro Owusu, The school has beefed up its security system to protect its integrity.<\/p>\n<p>He told <strong>Citi News<\/strong>\u2019 Caleb Kudah that the suspects were not students.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere has been an attempt to get into our system to do all sorts of things and as you know, we are also not sitting idle for that to happen. We have intensified our security measures and we have gotten hold of some people, but absolutely not students,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that \u201cwe wouldn\u2019t allow unscrupulous people to use our system for business and their selfish gains. The integrity of the University is specifically important to us, and we need to protect the integrity at all cost.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Oduro Owusu further urged students to refrain from paying monies to persons who claim they can help them change their grades.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey should refrain getting compromised.
