{"id":309311,"date":"2017-04-10T06:29:59","date_gmt":"2017-04-10T06:29:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=309311"},"modified":"2017-04-10T06:29:59","modified_gmt":"2017-04-10T06:29:59","slug":"ama-charged-to-stop-dumping-of-feacal-matter-into-sea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/04\/ama-charged-to-stop-dumping-of-feacal-matter-into-sea\/","title":{"rendered":"AMA charged to stop dumping of feacal matter into sea"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Parliamentary Select Committee on Local Government has called on the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) to immediately enforce stricter regulations to stop the dumping fecal matter into the sea.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-309313\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Mudor-fecal-treatment-plant-1.jpeg\" alt=\"mudor-fecal-treatment-plant-1\" width=\"684\" height=\"456\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-309327\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Mudor-fecal-treatment-plant-16.jpeg\" alt=\"mudor-fecal-treatment-plant-16\" width=\"684\" height=\"456\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to the Commission, the establishment of Lavender Hill\u2019 Fecal and Mudor Waste Water Treatment Plant is to curb the phenomenon.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-309326\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Mudor-fecal-treatment-plant-15.jpeg\" alt=\"mudor-fecal-treatment-plant-15\" width=\"684\" height=\"456\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Former President John Mahama inaugurated the multimillion dollar Accra Mudor Fecal Treatment Plant which was to treat fecal matter in 2016.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-309324\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Mudor-fecal-treatment-plant-13.jpeg\" alt=\"mudor-fecal-treatment-plant-13\" width=\"684\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-309325\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Mudor-fecal-treatment-plant-14.jpeg\" alt=\"mudor-fecal-treatment-plant-14\" width=\"684\" height=\"456\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Speaking to journalists during of a tour of the treatment plant on Friday, Chairperson of Parliamentary Select Committee on Local Government, Patricia Appiagyei said Parliament will soon outline sanctions for people who dump untreated fecal matter directly into the sea.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-309323\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Mudor-fecal-treatment-plant-12.jpeg\" alt=\"mudor-fecal-treatment-plant-12\" width=\"684\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-309322\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Mudor-fecal-treatment-plant-11.jpeg\" alt=\"mudor-fecal-treatment-plant-11\" width=\"684\" height=\"456\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think generally the whole lesson of this sewerage system is to bring a stop to the discharging of fecal matter into the sea; it despicable and unthinkable and we should not encourage it under any circumstance.
