{"id":306751,"date":"2017-03-31T14:30:03","date_gmt":"2017-03-31T14:30:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=306751"},"modified":"2017-03-31T14:30:03","modified_gmt":"2017-03-31T14:30:03","slug":"3-chinese-ghanaian-illegal-miners-arrested-in-eregion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/03\/3-chinese-ghanaian-illegal-miners-arrested-in-eregion\/","title":{"rendered":"3 Chinese, Ghanaian illegal miners arrested in E\/Region"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Police have arrested three Chinese illegal miners at Denkyira, a village near Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region.<\/p>\n<p>Three Ghanaian accomplices were also arrested in a swoop last night by a Police task-force.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-306758\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Miners-2.jpg\" alt=\"miners-2\" width=\"745\" height=\"413\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The operation, led by the New Juaben Municipal Police Commander, Superintendent Richardson Kumekor, retrieved four excavators, two pump action guns, over sixty cartridges and three pumping machines from the galamsey site.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, the Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, said the suspects will soon be arraigned for flouting the country&#8217;s mining laws.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-306759\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Miners-3.jpg\" alt=\"miners-3\" width=\"782\" height=\"439\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was an operation carried out by the Regional Rapid deployment force led by Superintendent Mr. Richardson Kumekor, the Municipal Police Commander and operation as I indicated was done around the Denkyira area around Nkawkaw. We have arrested six suspects. There are some expatriates, ostensibly Chinese nationals who were also arrested.
