{"id":306242,"date":"2017-03-29T17:47:58","date_gmt":"2017-03-29T17:47:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=306242"},"modified":"2017-03-29T17:47:58","modified_gmt":"2017-03-29T17:47:58","slug":"ndc-govt-sidelined-manhyia-north-over-devt-projects-mp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/03\/ndc-govt-sidelined-manhyia-north-over-devt-projects-mp\/","title":{"rendered":"NDC gov&#8217;t sidelined Manhyia North over dev&#8217;t projects &#8211; MP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Member of Parliament for the Manhyia North constituency is alleging that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government deliberately sidelined his constituency in the distribution of road projects.<\/p>\n<p>Collins Owusu Amankwah said the constituency has a road infrastructure deficit of about 67 percent.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the neglect of the constituency was &#8220;politically motivated.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He revealed that the previous parliament had approved some money to be used for road construction projects in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi, but his constituency was left out.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Parliament approved a loan of \u00a320million to as it were, to work on Kumasi roads, clearly, we didn&#8217;t see anything, later we were told that the money had been diverted to the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-306243 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Collins-Amankwa-donation-1.jpg\" alt=\"collins-amankwa-donation-1\" width=\"733\" height=\"550\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Member of Parliament was speaking to the press after donating an Ambulance, 2 motorbikes and other medical logistics to the two public health facilities in his constituency.<\/p>\n<p>He said the gesture was to assist the facilities to &#8220;ensure efficient healthcare delivery to my constituents.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-306244\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Collins-Amankwa-donation-2.jpg\" alt=\"collins-amankwa-donation-2\" width=\"733\" height=\"550\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Collins Amankwah also said he will soon embark on a project to get all the aged in his constituency, registered onto the National Health Insurance Scheme.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Alberta Britwum, the Kumasi Metro Health Director said, the ambulance will help in transporting \u00a0patients in case of emergencies.<\/p>\n<p>She admonished the health workers to take good care of the ambulance and the motorbikes and ensure they are used solely for the purposes for which they were presented.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Lauretta Timah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Member of Parliament for the Manhyia North constituency is alleging that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government deliberately sidelined his constituency in the distribution of road projects.
