For over a decade, Citi FM<\/strong>\u00a0as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, the Easter Orphan Project, has helped the\u00a0wards of some orphanages in the country including the Baptist School Complex and Orphanage\u00a0located at Trotor, near Suhum in the Eastern Region.<\/p>\n Established in 1999, the orphanage is headed by Reverend Victor Ofori-Amoah, and over the years, Ghana\u2019s leading English-speaking radio station, Citi FM<\/strong>, and its listeners, have donated some desks and bunk beds to the Baptist School Complex and Orphanage.<\/p>\n The station and its listeners also built a Skills and Resource Training\u00a0 Centre for the students to equip them with skills in vocations such as masonry, hairdressing, carpentry among others.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n Beneficiaries of the project<\/strong><\/p>\n Since its inception, past students of BASCO like Paul Adjartey have benefited from the Easter Orphan Project. He spent 13 years at the orphanage, and has completed Senior High School and is awaiting entry to the University.<\/p>\n In the meantime, he has returned to BASCO, to teach Mathematics and Science in one of the Form three class.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n Then there’s Richard Coffie, a former student of BASCO who is also a beneficiary of Citi FM\u2019s initiative – the Easter Orphan Project.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n He spent 13 years at BASCO and later moved to the Benkum Senior High School. Now, he is in his third year at the University of Ghana, Legon, reading Animal Science and Crop Science.<\/p>\n
