{"id":305111,"date":"2017-03-27T12:32:11","date_gmt":"2017-03-27T12:32:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=305111"},"modified":"2017-03-27T12:32:11","modified_gmt":"2017-03-27T12:32:11","slug":"chinese-illegal-miners-case-moved-to-circuit-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/03\/chinese-illegal-miners-case-moved-to-circuit-court\/","title":{"rendered":"Chinese illegal miners case moved to circuit court"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The case involving the five Chinese nationals and their five Ghanaian accomplices who were arrested for illegal mining, have been transferred from the Sekondi Magistrate Court to the Sekondi Circuit Court.<\/p>\n<p>The illegal miners were arrested on March 24, 2017, in a swoop by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Rapid Deployment Force of the Police Service, for illegally mining for gold in River Ankobra at Bamianko Dawule in the Nzema East Municipality.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-305114 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Chinese-galamsey-arrest-2.jpg\" alt=\"chinese-galamsey-arrest-2\" width=\"630\" height=\"473\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-305117 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Chinese-galamsey-arrest-5.jpg\" alt=\"chinese-galamsey-arrest-5\" width=\"630\" height=\"473\" \/><\/p>\n<p>State prosecutor Sergeant Francisca Nyarko in her open defence, pleaded with the court presided over by Her Lordship Mrs. Susana Eduful that, the matter be transferred from the Sekondi Magistrate Court to the Sekondi Circuit Court.<\/p>\n<p>Lawyers for the accused persons also supported the plea on similar grounds of lack of Jurisdiction.
