{"id":303575,"date":"2017-03-20T18:09:31","date_gmt":"2017-03-20T18:09:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=303575"},"modified":"2017-03-20T18:09:31","modified_gmt":"2017-03-20T18:09:31","slug":"gtuc-holds-first-global-business-directions-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/03\/gtuc-holds-first-global-business-directions-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"GTUC holds first global business directions conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ghana Technology University last Wednesday held its 1<sup>st<\/sup> Global Business Directions conference under the theme: \u201cthe enterprising graduate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-303581 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/gtuc-conference-8.jpg\" alt=\"gtuc-conference-8\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The conference was aimed at giving students an opportunity to meet and engage industry players as well as stakeholders in a bid to equip the students become employable and enterprising.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-303579 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/gtuc-conference-6.jpg\" alt=\"gtuc-conference-6\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The speakers for the conference were former rector of GIMPA, Professor Stephen Adei, Lecturer and CEO certified Ghana limited Timothy Adei, Broadcast Journalist, Abeiku Santana Aggrey, among others.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-303586 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/gtuc-conference-5.jpg\" alt=\"gtuc-conference-5\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong> at the conference, the organiser for the conference, Esi Akyere Mensah said the unemployment rate within the country is increasing at an alarming rate and students have to be equipped to be entrepreneurs \u201cGhana has a huge unemployment rate among the youth and it is a major problem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-303580 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/gtuc-conference-7.jpg\" alt=\"gtuc-conference-7\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is also a huge gap between industry and academia which makes students not employable after graduating.
