Ghana Technology University last Wednesday held its 1st<\/sup> Global Business Directions conference under the theme: \u201cthe enterprising graduate.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The conference was aimed at giving students an opportunity to meet and engage industry players as well as stakeholders in a bid to equip the students become employable and enterprising.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The speakers for the conference were former rector of GIMPA, Professor Stephen Adei, Lecturer and CEO certified Ghana limited Timothy Adei, Broadcast Journalist, Abeiku Santana Aggrey, among others.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Speaking to Citi News<\/strong> at the conference, the organiser for the conference, Esi Akyere Mensah said the unemployment rate within the country is increasing at an alarming rate and students have to be equipped to be entrepreneurs \u201cGhana has a huge unemployment rate among the youth and it is a major problem.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cThere is also a huge gap between industry and academia which makes students not employable after graduating.
