{"id":302282,"date":"2017-03-16T14:14:09","date_gmt":"2017-03-16T14:14:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=302282"},"modified":"2017-03-16T14:14:09","modified_gmt":"2017-03-16T14:14:09","slug":"judgement-on-dsp-tehoda-case-adjourned-again-to-march-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/03\/judgement-on-dsp-tehoda-case-adjourned-again-to-march-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Judgement on DSP Tehoda case adjourned again to March 31"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Human Rights Division of the High Court has for the second consecutive time deferred judgment in the case involving a former Senior Police Officer, DSP Gifty Tehoda.<\/p>\n<p>The Presiding Judge, Justice Gifty Adjei Addo, who set Thursday, March 16, 2017, \u00a0for the judgment after deferring during the last sitting, failed to deliver the judgement because of some inconsistencies she claimed to have found in the court records which needed clarification.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;jC1Mt6RGSRqG1cm1LJcGu0CNyy5VizYU&#8221;]Justice Adjei Addo took over the case after the dismissal of Justice Kofi Essel Mensah, who was originally hearing the suit as a result of his involvement in the Anas judicial corruption scandal.<\/p>\n<p>The case involving DSP Tehoda began on September 27, 2011, when one Nana Ama Martins was arrested for possessing large parcels suspected to be cocaine, which later turned into bicarbonate or baking soda.<\/p>\n<p>DSP Tehoda was linked to the disappearance of the cocaine and was interdicted and subsequently dismissed from the Service.<\/p>\n<p>She was then the Deputy Commander in charge of the Commercial Crimes Unit.<\/p>\n<p>Three years after her acquittal, the Police Service failed to reinstate her, forcing her to go to the Human Rights High Court to seek redress for what she described as wrongful dismissal by the Ghana Police Service.<\/p>\n<p>The case has been adjourned to the 31st of March 2017, where judgment is expected to be given.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Fred Djabanor\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Human Rights Division of the High Court has for the second consecutive time deferred judgment in the case involving a former Senior Police Officer, DSP Gifty Tehoda.
