{"id":30210,"date":"2014-07-07T15:30:45","date_gmt":"2014-07-07T15:30:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=30210"},"modified":"2014-07-07T15:30:45","modified_gmt":"2014-07-07T15:30:45","slug":"headmistress-stops-marriage-of-15-year-old","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/07\/headmistress-stops-marriage-of-15-year-old\/","title":{"rendered":"Headmistress stops marriage of  15-year-old"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The timely intervention of the headmistress of Ketan Catholic JHS in the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis prevented the marriage of a\u00a015-year-old JHS 2 student to a 47 year old man.<\/p>\n<p>The parents of the young girl\u00a0have allegedly betrothed the girl to a Ghanaian based in Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n<p>However when some classmates of the girl informed the headmistress about an impending marriage, \u00a0headmistress Mildred Asante, alerted the assembly member of the area who went to the girl\u2019s house to stop the ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to Citi News, she said, \u201cthey were asked to cancel the marriage so the Saturday, it didn\u2019t come on so I think the parents are angry with us.
