{"id":301957,"date":"2017-03-15T14:57:31","date_gmt":"2017-03-15T14:57:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=301957"},"modified":"2017-03-15T14:57:31","modified_gmt":"2017-03-15T14:57:31","slug":"full-trial-to-start-in-j-b-danquah-adu-murder-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/03\/full-trial-to-start-in-j-b-danquah-adu-murder-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Full trial to start in J.B Danquah-Adu murder case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Daniel Asiedu, the suspected murderer of the former Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu, has been committed to the High Court for a\u00a0full trial to commence.<\/p>\n<p>The committal, which took place at an Accra District Magistrate Court, was after he was indicted by the State and charged with murder.<\/p>\n<p>According to the court, Daniel Asiedu&#8217;s evidence during the indictment process, was full of contradictions, hence the decision to send him to the High Court for a full trial.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect was arrested in 2016 after he was alleged to have stabbed the late MP with a knife leading to his death at his residence in Accra.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_253848\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-253848\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-253848 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/jb-danquah.jpg\" alt=\"jb-danquah\" width=\"800\" height=\"609\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-253848\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Asiedu denied the allegation of being contracted to kill the deceased, and explained that, he entered the late MP&#8217;s residence to steal, which led to a struggle between them leading to his death.<\/p>\n<p>Ivy Danquah-Adu, the wife of the late MP, has expressed dismay with the delay in prosecuting her late husband&#8217;s supposed killers.<\/p>\n<p>The New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration has said it will use every lawful means available to it, to provide justice and bring closure to the murder case.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel Asiedu has been in police custody for the past 12 months, and was awaiting a bill of indictment and the summary of evidence to establish link to the murder of the late MP.<\/p>\n<p>This had resulted in a delay in the commencement of a full trial.
