{"id":301895,"date":"2017-03-15T09:41:11","date_gmt":"2017-03-15T09:41:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=301895"},"modified":"2017-03-15T09:41:11","modified_gmt":"2017-03-15T09:41:11","slug":"expresso-may-face-collapse-if","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/03\/expresso-may-face-collapse-if\/","title":{"rendered":"Expresso may face collapse if\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With the growing competition in Ghana\u2019s telecom industry, telecom analyst, Fouad Chalabi has urged Expresso to concentrate on a section of the market or face extinction by market forces.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the company can direct its investment into providing data while it looks for investors to upgrade its technology from CDMA to GSM.<\/p>\n<p>In 2016, Sudan Telecom (Sudatel), owners of Expresso Ghana announced that\u00a0\u00a0 18 per cent of the company has been sold and duly transferred to an unidentified buyer for $5million.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to Citi Business News Mr. Chalabi maintained that the competition is now too advanced for Expresso to survive without investment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the competition and where they are and what is happening in the market, you have more than one operation using 4G.
