{"id":300948,"date":"2017-03-11T10:14:11","date_gmt":"2017-03-11T10:14:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=300948"},"modified":"2017-03-11T10:14:11","modified_gmt":"2017-03-11T10:14:11","slug":"exim-bank-gets-new-ceo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/03\/exim-bank-gets-new-ceo\/","title":{"rendered":"EXIM Bank gets new CEO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Nana Akufo Addo has appointed Mr. Lawrence Agyinsam as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Export Import (EXIM) Bank.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;3RCdxtYbZHO3I69Wrk6K7s2x5A1rTx0B&#8221;]His appointment is however pending receipt of the constitutionally required advice of the governing board of the Bank and in consultation with the Public Services Commission.<\/p>\n<p>A letter signed by President Akufo Addo on the appointment said, \u201cPursuant to Section 18 (1) of the Ghana Export-Import Bank Act, 2006 (ACT 911), I hereby appoint you to act as the CEO of the Ghana Export Import Bank.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Ghana Exim bank is expected to improve the country\u2019s export competitiveness, to rake in much needed foreign exchange and improve balance of trade.<\/p>\n<p>The new bank is an amalgamation of the Export Finance Company Limited (EFCL), Eximguaranty Company Limited (ECL) and the Export Development and Agricultural Investment Fund (EDAIF).<\/p>\n<p>Parliament, last year passed the Ghana Export-Import Bank Act in the first quarter of this year, and was followed by the swearing in of a board of directors in July.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Pius Amihere Eduku\/citibusinessnews.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Nana Akufo Addo has appointed Mr. Lawrence Agyinsam as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Export Import (EXIM) Bank.
