{"id":299089,"date":"2017-03-05T14:27:41","date_gmt":"2017-03-05T14:27:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=299089"},"modified":"2017-03-05T14:27:41","modified_gmt":"2017-03-05T14:27:41","slug":"traders-escape-death-after-truck-crash-into-wares-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/03\/traders-escape-death-after-truck-crash-into-wares-photos\/","title":{"rendered":"Traders escape death after truck crash into wares [Photos]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some porridge and coconut sellers at Sapeiman Junction in Accra, narrowly escaped death on Sunday, when two articulated trucks zoomed into their wares in a horrific crash.<\/p>\n<p>One of the articulated truck drivers who spoke to <strong>Citi News\u2019<\/strong> Nana Boakye Yiadom, stated\u00a0that he was coming from the Kumasi-Accra end of the stretch and was about negotiating a curve to Sapeiman, when the other articulated truck run into him, dragging his vehicle over a 50-metre stretch.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-299091 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Traders-escape-death-at-Sapeiman-2.jpg\" alt=\"traders-escape-death-at-sapeiman-2\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-299092 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Traders-escape-death-at-Sapeiman-3.jpg\" alt=\"traders-escape-death-at-sapeiman-3\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Though no casualties were recorded, he explained that his conductor sustained injuries after falling off the heaps of bags of charcoal in the truck.<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cI was coming from the toll booth from the Kumasi road and I wanted to negotiate to Sapeiman, but because of the speed at which the other driver was driving, he could not apply brakes. His breaks failed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThose selling around, realizing we were going to crash into them, run for their lives.
