{"id":29683,"date":"2014-07-04T11:34:48","date_gmt":"2014-07-04T11:34:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=29683"},"modified":"2014-07-04T11:37:45","modified_gmt":"2014-07-04T11:37:45","slug":"cocobods-syndicated-loan-road-show-takes-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/07\/cocobods-syndicated-loan-road-show-takes-off\/","title":{"rendered":"Cocobod&#8217;s syndicated loan road show takes off"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ghana Cocoa Board (Cocobod) has commenced the road show for its syndicated loan for this year in London.<\/p>\n<p>Cocobod, the regulator of the cocoa industry in Ghana is seeking to raise 1.6 billion dollars to purchase cocoa from farmers in the upcoming season.<\/p>\n<p>Last year Cocobod signed a 1.2 billion dollar syndicated loan from international banks for the 2013\/14 cocoa crop purchases.<\/p>\n<p>The offer for 1.2 billion dollars was oversubscribed by about 75percent.<\/p>\n<p>Early on Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG) Dr Henry Kofi Wampah told\u00a0<b>Citi Business News<\/b>\u00a0the increased figure is as a result of a higher projection of cocoa yield this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018This year we are expecting a bigger crop yield the cocoa syndicated loan will be much higher, at least by 50 percent\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Ghana is the world\u2019s second largest cocoa exporter after Ivory Coast.<\/p>\n<p>It aims to raise its production to an average of 1 million tonnes annually from 800,000 tonnes through improved farming methods and better incentives.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile purchases of the 2014 Light Crop Season will commence from <b>Friday, 4<sup>th<\/sup> July, 2014.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>According to Cocobod the producer price to be paid at all buying centres is Two Hundred and Twelve Ghana Cedis <b>(GH\u00a2212.00) <\/b>per bag of 64 kilograms.<\/p>\n<p>A tonne of cocoa is Three Thousand, Three Hundred and Ninety Two Ghana Cedis <b>(GH\u00a23,392.00).<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b>By: \u00a0Rabiu Alhassan\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ghana Cocoa Board (Cocobod) has commenced the road show for its syndicated loan for this year in London.
