{"id":295637,"date":"2017-02-19T13:58:26","date_gmt":"2017-02-19T13:58:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=295637"},"modified":"2017-02-19T13:58:26","modified_gmt":"2017-02-19T13:58:26","slug":"be-impartial-in-handling-conflicts-ndc-to-nr-minister","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/02\/be-impartial-in-handling-conflicts-ndc-to-nr-minister\/","title":{"rendered":"Be impartial in handling conflicts &#8211; NDC to N\/R Minister"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Northern Region, has advised the newly sworn-in Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed, to be non-partisan and impartial as he works to resolve all chieftaincy related disputes in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The Norther Region has been home to ethnic and chieftaincy related violence, notably the tensions\u00a0between the Andani and Abudu clans in the Dagbon Traditional Area, and more recently, the flaring up of <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/02\/10\/bimbilla-shootings-death-toll-now-10-11-wounded\/\">clashes in Bimbilla<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-292807 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Bimbilla-clashes-2.jpg\" alt=\"bimbilla-clashes-2\" width=\"800\" height=\"546\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-292808 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Bimbilla-clashes-3.jpg\" alt=\"bimbilla-clashes-3\" width=\"800\" height=\"543\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The clashes in Bimbilla left at least 10 persons dead, with several others injured, after the attempted enskinment of a sub-chief in the town by the regent, despite warnings from police.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, the General Secretary of the NDC in the Northern Region, Halid Abdul Rauf, said Mr. Saeed would do well to avoid partisanship and heed the advice of the\u00a0Northern Regional Security Council in dealing with the tensions in the region and achieving lasting peace.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn this region, you must always ensure that you are dealing with the matter objectively and that you are on the side of the truth.
