{"id":29523,"date":"2014-07-03T14:37:08","date_gmt":"2014-07-03T14:37:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=29523"},"modified":"2014-07-03T14:37:08","modified_gmt":"2014-07-03T14:37:08","slug":"adenta-aviation-hub-to-be-converted-into-an-industrial-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/07\/adenta-aviation-hub-to-be-converted-into-an-industrial-centre\/","title":{"rendered":"Adenta aviation hub to be converted into an industrial centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Government is to go ahead with plans to convert the land for the proposed Adenta aviation hub into a light industrial area after smoking the peace pipe with land owners.<\/p>\n<p>The parcel of land which is in Adenta covers about 600 acres.<\/p>\n<p>It was acquired by government through the transport ministry in the 1960ties from the Agbawe quarter of La one of 6 quarters in La to build an aviation hub.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed aviation hub was to comprise an airport, an aviation school among others.<\/p>\n<p>Plans for the hub was however put on hold after new developments in the area made it impossible to put it up.<\/p>\n<p>Ownership of the land was switched from the Transport ministry to the ministry of Lands and Natural Resources which earmarked it for a light industrial area.<\/p>\n<p>But the move was contested by the land owners after government failed to notify them on its new decision leading to long litigation as well as a clash with the police early this year which lead to the death of the son of one of the land owners.<\/p>\n<p>The case was however withdrawn from court last week after successful mediation with government where it was agreed by both parties that the land can be used for the industrial area.<\/p>\n<p>Spokesman for Adenta traditional area, partial owners of the land, George Sowah told <b>Citi Business News<\/b> \u2018we are happy with the new arrangements with government on the matter.\u00a0 It is now settled we have no issues with government anymore.
