The remaining candidates\u00a0had zero votes.<\/p>\n<p>Following his victory, Dr. Dzani was accused of bribing the delegates by two of his fellow contestants.<\/p>\n<p>One of the aggrieved contestants,\u00a0Alberta Sitsofe Adukor-Asola, intimated her loss was \u201cbecause I didn\u2019t give money, unfortunately. It is high time this kind of politicking, we stop it in this country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Nii-Kotei-Dzani-elected-Council-of-State-rep-for-Greater-Accra-Region-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-294811\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Nii-Kotei-Dzani-elected-Council-of-State-rep-for-Greater-Accra-Region-2.jpg\" alt=\"nii-kotei-dzani-elected-council-of-state-rep-for-greater-accra-region-2\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Greater-Accra-Council-of-State-Voting-5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-294804\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Greater-Accra-Council-of-State-Voting-5.jpg\" alt=\"greater-accra-council-of-state-voting-5\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Greater-Accra-Council-of-State-Voting-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-294802\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Greater-Accra-Council-of-State-Voting-3.jpg\" alt=\"greater-accra-council-of-state-voting-3\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Greater Accra Region poll was an area of interest given that the former National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram,\u00a0Enoch Teye Mensah, was <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/02\/14\/ndcs-e-t-mensah-vies-for-council-of-state-membership\/\">scheduled to take part<\/a><\/strong><\/span> in the election, but later withdrew at the last minute citing personal reasons.<\/p>\n<p>The NDC executives of the\u00a0Ningo-Prampram\u00a0constituency had prior to his withdrawal\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/02\/15\/ningo-prampram-ndc-angry-over-e-t-mensahs-council-of-state-bid\/\">expressed their disappointment<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>with the former MP\u2019s decision, saying it would send wrong signals to the grassroots\u00a0members of the party, since they would think that t he has\u00a0defected to the governing New Patriotic Party.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 113 candidates between the ages of 23 and 84, are contesting in the election, which will take place in all regional capitals across the country.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Photos: Anass Seidu<\/p>\n<p>By: Anass Seidu &amp; Delali Adogla-Bessa\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The President of Groupe Ideal, Dr. Nii Kotei Dzani, has been elected the Council of State representative of the Greater Accra Region.
