Some residents of Anlo Constituency in the Volta Region have expressed anger over the President\u2019s decision to remove the Agriculture Minister from Office.<\/p>\n
Fiifi Kwetey the MP for Ketu South replaced Clement Kofi Humado as Minister for Agriculture and Aqua Development in the latest Presidential reshuffle announced over the weekend.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Citi News<\/b>, some angry Anlo residents said they were surprised the President\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n
The first resident said, \u201cthis comes as a surprise to us all. We still don\u2019t believe it. The Agric minister who happens to be the only minister from this area serving in the government being removed at this time? It comes as a surprise and a shock to the people of the Anlo constituency. We strongly oppose to this. If other areas do not oppose, we strongly oppose to this. He must be reinstated.\u201d<\/p>\n
Another resident questioned President Mahama’s reason\u00a0for\u00a0removing the minister from office.<\/p>\n
\u201cI respect the President\u2019s right to hire and fire alright, but certain things when you listen to the way he\u2019s playing the game you wonder if he\u2019s really on top of his game. I am just surprised if he should remove the agric minister. I mean, we people of Anlo, we have our thumbs and we vote all the time and we expect to be respected. Not removing people who come from this area, The president was here, he gave a lot of promises, he didn\u2019t fulfill it. He just removed somebody we all trusted and hoped that through him something would come to Anloga and he just rubbished it and removed him. We\u2019re not too happy about that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Another resident expressed her dissatisfaction, hinting that the decision may influence their votes during the next election.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are very shocked about what happened to honorable Humado. Actually, if the president is not interested in the Volta Region, he should just tell us so that during elections, we can sit in our houses and rest,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
