Former FIFA footballer of the year and current Senator of the Montserrado Country in Liberia, George Oppong Weah, paid a courtesy call on President Akufo-Addo today [Tuesday] to congratulate him on his election as President and also to discuss issues of mutual concern and benefit to the two nations.<\/p>\n
According to Senator Weah, the conduct of Ghana\u2019s elections and subsequent peaceful change of government, has cemented Ghana\u2019s position as the true beacon of democracy on the African continent.<\/p>\n
The Liberian Senator also applauded the resilience of President Akufo-Addo, who was successful on his third attempt at the Presidency, describing it \u201cas a lesson for all of us. If you don\u2019t succeed at your first attempt, try again.\u201d<\/p>\n
